The Children's Garden

A Montessori School

Experience. Learn. Grow. Connect.

What is Montessori education?

Developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian physician, and used for over a century, it is a child-focused approach that fosters rigorous, self-motivated growth for children in all areas of their development, with a goal of nurturing each child’s natural desire for knowledge, understanding, and respect.

Located in Henderson, Nevada and lead by Ms. Kristen, Nevada's only educator with a Master's Degree (M.Ed.) specifically in Montessori Integrative Learning.

The Children's Garden is dedicated to Montessori educational principles of child-directed, active, self-paced, individualized learning.

If you are looking for an educational experience for your child, age 3 - 6 years old, that is more than just babysitting, then look no further than The Children's Garden.  We are dedicated to children's education and growth while connecting them to others and to the world around them.

Class size is kept small to ensure close interaction with student and educator.

Our Approach

At The Children's Garden, the Montessori Primary Level introduces children to a larger classroom community where they learn the fundamental academic concepts that are the foundation for their later learning.  The children are presented new ideas and hands-on materials as each child is ready and shows interest.

Children choose their own work with the guidance of the teacher, and work independently or in small groups.  This freedom to make choices is important to the development of responsibility and self-mastery.

What Parents Think

“Ms. Kristen,

Where do we even start?  Thank you for being an amazing teacher to my girls.  Thank you for also listening to me rant all year long.  The support that you bring is unbelievable."
